Model No. 05 — Jack Bodenstein Coventry Enterprise
Twenty pieces. Black diamond set bezel. DLC treated case. The most technically demanding model in the collection, produced only when conditions permit.
Script Signature at Six O'Clock
The Coventry Black Diamond Reserve exists because Jack Bodenstein wanted to understand what the house was capable of at its absolute limit. Not a commercially calculated ultra-edition, but a genuine inquiry into how far the production standard could be pushed when every constraint except quality was removed. The answer is this watch, and twenty is not a marketing number. It is a production reality.
The black diamonds set into the bezel are sourced from a single supplier who works exclusively with colour-treated stones of exceptional cut quality. Setting black diamonds into a DLC-treated titanium bezel requires a specific approach, because both materials are harder than conventional setting tools. The setter works with carbide-tipped instruments developed specifically for this project. Each stone is seated individually, checked under 10x magnification, and rechecked after the adjacent stone is placed to account for any micro-movement in the setting surface.
The obsidian-treated dial is produced from a base that receives a preparation compound incorporating natural obsidian powder before the final surface treatment is applied. Under light it has a depth that standard black dials do not possess. At certain angles, mineral inclusions from the obsidian compound catch light in points, a quality that reads as almost geological rather than manufactured. Compare this model with the intense darkness of the Obsidian Time and the ultimate statement of the Signature Reserve.
Availability of this model is extremely limited. Inquiries are reviewed personally by Jack Bodenstein.
