The Coventry Silver Crown is, in many respects, the most difficult model in the collection to fully appreciate at first examination. It does not display its quality through materials that announce themselves. It carries no diamonds, no dramatic colour, no historical reference that requires explanation. What it offers is proportion, and proportion at this level of precision is not immediately legible to an eye trained on ornamentation.

The silver opaline dial achieves its character through preparation rather than decoration. The surface is worked through a series of polishing and treatment stages that produce a particular quality of reflectivity, not mirror-bright, not matte, but something between that shifts with the angle of examination. The Roman numerals are applied by hand, using a method that Jack Bodenstein documented during his time studying in Switzerland with a dial specialist whose training pre-dated modern transfer printing methods.

The white gold case is finished to a standard that makes the Silver Crown the most labour-intensive case in the collection to produce. Mirror polishing on both primary lugs and the case band requires seven finishing stages before the surface meets specification. The caseback carries an engraving of the collection's founding date in the same Roman numeral style as the dial indices.
